Coronavirus: Ben Ayade Sits At Night On Itu Bridge To Ward Off Vehicular Entry
Professor Benedict Ayade is going hard on citizens to ensure that they abide by all the measures aimed at curtailing the spread of Covid-19 in the state.
Recently, the governor was spotted sitting on a chair with a group of security operatives watching out on Calabar-Itu bridge, that links Cross River State with Akwa ibom State to ensure no one comes into Cross River during the border closure.
Prior to this, reports had it that the force men allowed motorists into the state by collecting bribes.
Until the State’s commissioner for health Dr. Betta Edu ordered that the bridge be closed totally.

Recall that the government had also ordered a ‘no mask, no movement’ policy, saying that defaulters would pay the fine of three hundred thousand naira.
To help residents, he said face masks should be produced in millions by a garment factory and be distributed for free.
Also each family was given twenty thousand naira as part of the two hundred and thirty nine million given by the federal government to distribute to the poor and extra twenty thousand naira sponsored by the Cross River State government for the pregnant women.
