A COVID-19 isolation center in Bangladesh went up in flames yesterday, killing five people.
The fire was said to have started in a makeshift isolation unit made for (COVID-19) patients in United Hospital Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The incident was confirmed by the fire service director, Zillur Rahman, who noted that the reason for the fire was not yet ascertained.
He said the fire was extinguished in about an hour.
All five victims were identified as four men and a woman aged between 45 and 75.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh has a total of 38,292 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 544 deaths.
However, some health experts are concerned that the real number of cases could be higher in a country of more than 160 million people where many have only limited access to healthcare.
