In its efforts to further curtail the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic among the populace, LASG has launched a handwashing challenge tagged “MyHandsAreSafe”, in partnership with Jumia Nigeria.
The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals and Investment, Mrs. Solape Hammond made the announcement at a special event organised by Jumia Nigeria.

The handwashing challenge will teach the citizens the right way to wash their hands as advised by the World Health Organisation and other health authorities as well as encourage them to imbibe the habit in order to stay safe of the virus and other contagious diseases.
She said that the #MyHandsAreSafe challenge is a deliberate effort to use an online viral challenge towards minimising the spread of the disease.
While appreciating Jumia Nigeria for the partnership, she noted that her office already has an ongoing programme with Reckitt Benckiser, the maker of Dettol, to educate and teach primary schools pupils the techniques of handwashing and hygiene.
The Special Adviser stated that the programme is expected to reach 50,000 pupils in 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas in the State.
Mrs. Juliet Anammah, the Chairperson of Jumia Nigeria, said, “Jumia is very happy to leverage our online ecosystem, in collaboration with Lagos State, to promote the challenge for the benefit of all the citizens”.
