Three people were reportedly injured when the police clamped down on a party in the Surulere area of Lagos state on Friday evening.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, who confirmed the incident, said nine people were arrested while the speakers were also seized.

“The Surulere police station got distress calls from neighbours in that area of loud music. Our men located the address and the music was still playing. According to the report that I got from the DPO, they had over 50 persons celebrating.
“When they saw police, some of them ran in different directions but we eventually had about nine persons arrested. The speaker was also seized. Two police officers were injured from the brief we got because they went in small numbers. They never envisaged that there would be resistance,” he said.
