– They made the call following the alleged corruption cases in federal agencies

– The National chairman of the opposition party, Prince Uche Secondus made this call on behalf of the party at an ongoing media briefing in Abuja

The People’s Democratic Party(PDP) has called for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari over alleged cases of corruption in federal agencies.

National chairman of the opposition party, Prince Uche Secondus, made the call in an ongoing media briefing tagged, ‘Nigeria a free fall as corruption, Insecurity engulfs our nation,’ in Abuja on Friday, 24 July.

The PDP chairman said it was now evident that the Buhari government has run out of propaganda with regards to the worsening security situation in Nigeria.

Some of the alleged corruption cases he cited are the ongoing corruption investigations of the NDDC, MIC, NEDC, NSITF, EFCC and others.

He noted that the recent decision of over 300 soldiers to resign from service and the call by the National Assembly for the service chiefs to resign has shown that the “press statement” victories of Boko Haram elements was all a lie and political propaganda.

He described Nigeria under Buhari’s watch, as a nation on ventilator gasping for breath.

Secondus said corruption has become a way of life among Nigerians while Buhari plays the ostrich.

He also accused Buhari of failing to fulfill his promise to fight corruption during electioneering campaigns in 2015 and 2019.

“What we are witnessing in our country today is a total collapse of the nation, the country is on ventilator gasping for air, under such circumstance. President Buhari should do the honourable thing required of an elder statesman in situations like this, throw in the towel and save the country from ruins,” he said.
