Court Arraigns former Education Secretary, Others over Conspiracy, Breach of Trust

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Kaduna Zonal office has arraigned the trio of Sunusi Yusuf, Secretary, Isah Ayuba Yarima and  Sani Mohammed Sa’id, before Justice M.T.M. Tukur of the State High Court, Kaduna.

Yusuf, Secretary, Lere Local Government Education Authority of Kaduna State; Yarima and Sa’id, Chairman Motorcycle Distribution Committee of the Authority were arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and breach of trust.

Investigation revealed that sometimes in 2013 in Kaduna, the accused were entrusted with 49 motorcycles valued at N5,407,704:96k (Five Million Four Hundred and Seven Thousand Seven Hundred and Four Naira Ninety Six Kobo), which were delivered to them by one Mutunci Pride Nigeria Limited for onward distribution to one Idris Husseini Abdullahi and 48 others who are members of staff of Lere Local Government Education Authority.

But the accused allegedly dishonestly misappropriated the sum in violation of the mode in which such trust was to be discharged and thereby committed the offence contrary to Section 311 of the Penal Code Law Cap 89 laws Northern Nigeria and punishable under Section Section 312.
