Court Convicts One for N34million Fraud

The EFCC, Gombe Zonal Office on Thursday, October 17, 2019, Secured the conviction of Alhaji Umar Aji, a.k.a Alhaji Tailor, before Justice Abubakar Jauro of the State High Court 7, Gombe State.

He was arraigned on a one count charge bordering on Criminal Breach of Trust. Umar was charged for obtaining N34,000,000.00 (Thirty Four Million Naira) from Alhaji Yahaya Umar Barambu under the false pretense of using the money for Madrid Business on behalf of nominal complainant.

Instead, he misappropriated same.
Justice Jauro sentenced the convict to three years imprisonment with option of N100,000.00 fine. The judge further ordered for restitution of N7,700,000.00 to the nominal complainant through the prosecution, EFCC.
