Court Dismisses Igbenedion, Agbonyinma’s Appeal

– Court of Appeal in Benin dismisses appeals filed by igbenedion,Agbonyinma,momoh and Patrick

– Barr. Omosede, a candidate of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) for Òvia Federal Constituency is challenging the decision of the lower tribunal which upheld the victory of Hon Dennis Idahosa of APC

– Hon Agbonyinma was challenging the victory of Jude Ise-Idehen of the PDP for Ikpoba-Okha/Egor Federal Constituency seat

 

The Court of Appeal sitting in Benin City has dismissed the appeals filed by Barr. Omosede Igbinedion, Hon Ehiozuwa Agbonyinma, Engr. Abubakar Momoh and Idiake Patrick.

Barr. Omosede, a candidate of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) for Òvia Federal Constituency is challenging the decision of the lower tribunal which upheld the victory of Hon Dennis Idahosa of the All Progressives Congress.

Hon Agbonyinma was challenging the victory of Jude Ise-Idehen of the PDP for Ikpoba-Okha/Egor Federal Constituency seat.

Engr. Momoh appeal was for the court to upturn the ruling of the lower tribunal which dismissed his petition for lack of merit and upheld the election of Senator Francis Alimikhena representing Edo North senatorial district.

Deacon Idiake had also challenged the decision of the lower tribunal to upheld the election of Joe Edionwele for the Esan West/Esan Central/Igueben Federal Constituency.

Justice Aseimo Moore Ademein who read the judgment said that all the appeals lacked merit and thereby dismissed.

He said parties are to bear their respective cost and said that copies of the judgment would be made available by next week.
