Court Fixes Jan. 8 For Ruling On Sowore, Others’ Bail Application
A Chief Magistrate Court in Abuja, on Tuesday, adjourned till January 8 the ruling on the bail application filed on behalf of Omoyele Sowore and four others.
Eko Hot Blog had reported that Sowore and four others were arrested in connection with a #CrossoverWithProtest procession held on New Year’s eve at Gudu junction in Abuja.
Chief Magistrate Mabel Segun-Bello fixed the date after listening to the application for bail moved by the lawyer to the defendants, Marshal Abubakar and the opposition by the prosecutor.

The court ordered that the defendants be remanded at the Force CIID facility in Area 10, following complaints by Sowore that they were denied food and medical attention at the Kuje Correctional Centre.
The Chief Magistrate also directed the Police to provide one of the defendants, Damilare Adeola, a law student of the University of Abuja, with internet access and writing materials to enable him join classes which resumed virtually on January 5.
The five defendants were taken before the court on Monday and accused of criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly and attempting to incite others.
