EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Federal High Court in Abuja has authorized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arrest former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, ahead of his scheduled arraignment on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a conflicting ruling from a Kogi State High Court has prohibited the EFCC from arresting, detaining, or prosecuting the ex-governor.

Earlier in the day, amidst tight security, Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo, visited Bello, accompanied by a retinue of security personnel and supporters protesting the siege on the former governor’s home.

Eyewitnesses reported a heavy presence of law enforcement, including EFCC operatives, police officers, Department of State Security (DSS) personnel, and members of Bello’s private security detail surrounding the residence.

Photographic evidence obtained by reporters showcased the tense scene outside Bello’s residence, with armed EFCC personnel visibly positioned around the premises.
