Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has issued an ex parte order ordering the All Progressives Congress, APC, to maintain the status quo in its ongoing congresses in the state.
The directive is coming after the party concluded its ward congress and was preparing for the local government and state congresses.
The order was following a suit filed by some members of the party, Okwudili Ndike, Peace Oganu, and Samuel Uchegbule, who said they were not issued forms despite paying for them.
The party members named the APC and its national chairman, Alh. Abdullahi Ganduje was the first and second defendants.
They demanded an order of interim injunction restraining the defendants and their privies from organising the congresses.
They also sought an order restraining the APC from accepting the ward congresses and from inaugurating them.
The presiding judge, Justice GV Obomanu ordered all parties involved in the matter to maintain the status quo pending the determination of the suit and adjourned to December 3.
