Court Remands Abdulrasheed Maina At Kuje Correctional Centre

Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered for Abdulrasheed Maina to be remanded at Kuje Correctional Centre, pending the outcome of his ongoing trial.

At the resumed trial on Friday, Eko Hot Blog gathered that the counsel representing Maina, Adaji Abel, officially informed the court of his withdrawal from the criminal proceedings,  and the new attorney employed by Mr Maina asked for a short adjournment to enable him get up to speed with the facts of the case.

It was also gathered that Justice Abang granted the application for adjournment on the premise that the defendant who is presumed innocent is entitled to legal representation.

He subsequently adjourned the case to the 8th of December for a continuation of trial.

The court order for Maina to be remanded in the latest twist in the reversal of fortune of the ex pension boss who has recently been enmeshed in the wide net of the law after being charged with money laundering as well as other counts of financial malfeasance.
