Court Remands Boyfriend For Setting Girlfriend Ablaze

The Lagos State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ebute Meta, on Thursday, ordered the remand of Victor Orji, for allegedly setting his girlfriend ablaze.

The prosecutor, Jimah Iseghede, told the court that the offence contravened Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs A. Kusanu, ordered that Orji be remanded in the Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending legal advice from the state Director of Public Prosecutions as the case was adjourned till February 19.

Victor had on December 7, 2019 set his girlfriend ablaze at his residence in Ojo area of the state.
