Court Remands Two Suspects For Allegedly Raping Neighbor’s Sons In Katsina
- Abubakar Abdullahi, 33, and Abubakar Ashiru, 22, accused of sodomy

- Senior Magistrate, Hajiya Fadile Dikko, remands both suspects in police custody
A Katsina Magistrate Court sitting, on Wednesday, remanded two men in police custody for allegedly sodomising their neighbour’s sons.
Both men, identified as Abubakar Abdullahi, 33, and Abubakar Ashiru, 22, appeared separately before the court and will remain in custody until their next hearing on September 8, 2020, and October 7, 2020, respectively.
Recalling the trial process, Ekohotblog learned that one of the suspect, Abdullahi was caught by his neighbour, Mrs Binta Rabiu on July 17, 2020, sodomizing her 10-year-old son,
The neighbour, however, reported the incident to the Central Police Station, Katsina, noting that it happened at their residence on Kofar Durbi Quarters.
After confessing to the crime during interrogation, Abdullahi was arraigned for an unnatural offence under Section 255 of the Penal Code, Law of Katsina State, 2019.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Lawal Bello, told the court that investigation into the incident was in progress and pleaded that the case is adjourned to a new date for mention.
Delivering judgement, the senior magistrate, Hajiya Fadile Dikko, ordered that Abdullahi be remanded in the custody of the Special Criminal Investigation Department of the Katsina State Police Command, until September 8, 2020.

Meanwhile, Ashiru who also appeared before Magistrate Dikko was alleged to have “forcefully had homosexual affair” with his neighbour’s two sons, aged eight and nine respectively.
According to the police, the victims’ father reported the case on July 15, 2020, at the Central Police Station, Katsina.
Our correspondent gathered that Ashiru, Umar and the victims were neighbours at the Galadanchi Quarter, Katsina.
During the trial, Ashiru was also charged with unnatural offence contrary to Section 255 of the Penal Code.
The police prosecutor, Bello, said the investigation was in progress in the case and requested a new date when the case could come up for mention.
Delivering judgement, the judge, Dikko granted the request and adjourned the case till October 7, 2020, for mention, ordering that Ashiru be remanded in police custody till then.
