Court Sentence NSCDC officer To Three Years Imprisonment For Fraudulent Involvement
A High Court sitting in Gombe State charged an officer of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), identified as Zubairu Baba Ali, three years imprisonment for fraudulent involvement.
The judgment was delivered on Wednesday by Justice A. J. Awak of Gombe State after he was arraigned before the court by the Gombe Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
During the trial, the Prosecution counsel, G. I. Ndeh, told the court that he was charged on one-count charge bordered on cheating to the tune of N300,000, which contradicts Section 320 and punishable under Section 322 of the Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria.

It was gathered that the suspect committed the crime in 2017 when he collected the sum of N300,000 from one Muhammed Bashir Muhammad in Gombe, to secure a job at NSCDC.
It was learned that Bashir paid the money into a third-party account’s number with details of the account, Keystone Bank, Iliyasu Yakubu Amana, who, in turn, confirmed that after receiving the money, he handed over the money to the convict.
After all, evidence tendered in court; Justice Awak convicted the suspect to three years imprisonment with an option of N50,000 fine.
