Court Sentences Man To 12 Years Imprisonment For Human Trafficking

– Ufor Papa Samuel sentenced to 12 years imprisonment

– Found guilty of a three-count charge on human trafficking

– Caught in the process of trafficking Cynthia Uden to Mali for prostitution

One Ufor Papa Samuel has been sentenced to 12 years imprisonment by a Federal High Court in Asaba, for crimes bothering on Human Trafficking.

The accused was arrested at Seme border while attempting to traffick one Cynthia Uden, 20, for prostitution under the false pretence of engaging her as a salesgirl in Mali.

Ufor Samuel was described as a serial human trafficker by the agency NAPTIP.

According to NAPTIP, the offence contravened Sections 13(4)c,18 and 24 of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administrative Act, 2015.

Delivering Judgement on the case, Honourable Justice T.B. Adegoke sentenced the accused to a cumulative 12 years imprisonment, which would run concurrently after he found the accused guilty of the three-count charges read against him by National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
