The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 62 new coronavirus infections in 11 states and the federal capital territory.
The new cases, which were confirmed in the agency’s update for October 25, 2020, represented a slight increase from the figure on Sunday, when 48 new cases were recorded.
Taraba was first on the list of states with 18 new positive samples, while Ogun followed with 15 cases, and FCT recorded the third most cases for Monday with 6 infections.
However, one new fatality was confirmed on Sunday, leaving the current toll at 1,130.
With 180 people discharged on Monday, the number of total recoveries has now risen to 61,57, 465.
The country is gradually inching close to 600,000 tested samples, out of which 61,992 have been confirmed positive.
