COVID-19: 296 Evacuees Depart UK For Nigeria

At least 296 Nigerians stranded in United Kingdom (UK) due to coronavirus pandemic have departed for Nigeria on Saturday, August 15.

This was announced by the Media aide to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sarah Sanda, in a terse statement.

The evacuees according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs departed Gatwick Airport, London at about 1.38pm.

The Air Peace flight is expected to land Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja later on Saturday.

“296 returnees from the UK departed Gatwick Airport, London to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja today, August 15, 2020 at 1.38 pm aboard Air Peace Flight No. P47801 operated by Air Europa Flight No AEA962,” the statement said.
