COVID-19: Popular American Rapper Dying In Prison

Jamell Maurice Demons, known professionally as YNW Melly, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter from Gifford, Florida. He is best known for his songs “Murder on My Mind” and “Mixed Personalities” featuring Kanye West.

Rapper YNW Melly is reportedly dying in prison from Coronavirus and his lawyer wants him released.

The 20-year-old is suffering from severe chills, heavy laboured breathing, headaches and body aches.

His lawyer is alleging that the prison in Florida is not handling the pandemic appropriately, stating, “they have not given them masks, or cleaning supplies that would be beneficial regarding his recovery.

His lawyer added that Melly is down to 114 pounds and he’s being kept with another inmate with Coronavirus and there’s a concern “if the virus can be mutated or passed reoccurring between individuals.” He’s also reportedly not being monitored every hour like he’s supposed to be.

He was diagnosed last week. He was arrested and charged with double murder last year.
