COVID-19: Cross River Govt Seeks Provision Of More Isolation Centres

The Cross River State Government has urged the Federal Government to, as a matter of exigency, provide the state with additional COVID-19 testing and isolation centres.

The call follows the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic as a result of which the number of new infections has seen significant increase across the country.

The State’s Commissioner for Health, Dr. Betta Edu said the request is urgent as hoodlums who vandalised the testing Center in the wake of the #EndSARS demonstrations made away with test samples, thereby putting their lives and those of others at risk.

She however implored the Federal Government, Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to treat the request with immediacy.
