Retailers and Wholesalers were seen flauting the social distance order in Ile-Epo Market following the gradual easing of COVID-19 Lockdown by the Federal Government.
Recall President Muhammadu Buhari had in his last broadcast ordered gradual easing of the COVID-19 lockdown in the FCT, Lagos State, and Ogun State. The directive became effective in Lagos State on Monday May 4.

Inline with the Federal Government’s directives, Lagos State Government in its capacity gave guidlines for the reopening of all kinds of market as part of efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
“All markets and stores in the various Local Governments/Local Council Development Areas across the metropolis will be allowed to open from 9 a.m till 3 p.m on selected days. Food handlers must also wear masks and hand gloves in markets at all times”.
Reverse was the case at Ile-Epo Market as buyers and sellers walked forgetting social distancing.
