COVID-19: Ekiti Announces Date To Reopen Schools For Graduating Students
The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has announced the state government is making plans in order for schools across the state to reopen on July 20 for its graduating students.
Ekohotblog on Monday reported that the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 at its briefing in Abuja okayed the resumption of schools for graduating students
Speaking in statewide broadcast on Tuesday evening, Fayemi explained that the state will begin a random community testing for the COVID-19 as part of it measures to curb and contain the spread of the virus in the community.
“Our random community testing starting with Ikere Ekiti Council on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 and moving from council to council.

“Efforts are now on top gear to ensure our children return to school from July 20, 2020 as recommended by the interface between the Ministry of Education and all stakeholders in the education sector,” he said.
The governor also added that the reopening of the schools for graduating school was to allow them prepare for their examination.
Confirming the resumption of the SS3, JSS3 and Primary six classes , Fayemi noted that “Other classes will be gradually absorbed as schools meet all requirements to accommodate them safely and responsibly.”
