English Woman Super League, WSL, and championship in which winners and relegation are yet to be known has been discontinued immediate effect as a result of a joint leagues board meeting held on Monday, May 25, 2020.

The FA stated that the conclusion showed up after the majority of responses from clubs went in the same direction with the best interest of the players.

The plan is also in accordance with the Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship Board and the FA as a means to prepare and focus on next season when football returns for the 2020-21 campaign.

This idea has declared all divisions of women’s football in England now discontinued for the 2019-20 campaign as Manchester City was top of the table when the season was canceled in March after the advent of COVID-19.

The second-placed Chelsea had a game in hand on to be played which was hopeful to top the table while the struggling Liverpool was in danger of being relegated.
