The Lagos State Government has said that the relief package distributed to residents of the state to cushion the effect of the coronavirus lockdown is in different phases.
According to a piece of information provided on the official Twitter handle of the state, the first phase, targeted at the indigent and vulnerable, reached over one hundred thousand households (100,000).
The second phase is targeted at people with disabilities, the elderly who had earlier received SMS from LASRRA and vulnerable people within a catchment area and Informal Sector.

The state, however, made it clear that the package is a relief and not a substitute for loss of income.
Ekohotblog reports that the state, in its next phase, will reach over a hundred youths with its palliative measures.
The new phase, according to the state, will be distributed by Civil Society Organisation, Voluntary Group and personalities, NGOs, LASTMA and Neighborhood Safety Watch.
The state advised residents to continue to practise Social Distancing while assuring that COVID-19 will be defeated.
