COVID-19 In Nigeria: FG Announces Resumption Date For Domestic Flights

The National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Sani Aliyu, has stated that domestic flights will resume from June 21,2020.

Ekohotblog reports that Sani stated this on Monday during daily COVID-19 briefing.

“The aviation industry is requested to start developing protocols to allow for domestic flights to resume anytime from the 21st of June onwards.”

However The minister for aviation, Hadi Sirika, further clarified that June 21 was a tentative date for flight resumption.

“Certain conditions have to be fulfilled between now and then.” sirika explains.

According to him, the aircrafts have to be good and safe to fly. He added that within now and June 21,necessary recertifications and medicals for pilots and crew members would be done.

The PTF however extended the ban on inter-state travels except for movement of agricultural produce, petroleum products, manufactured goods and essential services.
