COVID-19 Is A Leveller, You’re Not As Big As You Think — Adeboye Tackles Rich Nigerians

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has derided flamboyant leaders and individuals who flaunt their wealth in the midst of pervasive poverty.

He described the lockdown occassioned by the Coronavirus pandemic as a leveler which knows no difference between affluent and the downtrodden.

In a televised sermon from Redemption City, Mowe, Ogun State tagged ‘Let There Be Light (5)’ on Sunday, Adeboye called for individual repentance, adding that those who refused to seek God do not love themselves as the lockdown was going to bring signs and miracles to those who love God.

Adeboye also announced to the church pastors to prepare for the harvest of babies by early next year.

Adeboye, fondly called Daddy GO, pointed that God had earlier told him not to be bothered about those who would die from the pandemic, because it was their time.

Asking that scientific inquiry be made, he noted it was amazing that the number of lives claimed by death resulting from COVID-19 was less than 10 percent of the number who recovered as well as the number of lives lost to accident and other factors.

Hear the pastor, “I am talking particularly to those who are big. Where is your bigness now? You think you are mighty, where is your mightiness now when Almighty God said ‘sit down at home’?

“What is the difference between CEO and and messenger when the Almighty God said all of you I lock you down? What is the difference between the one who owns so much money and could buy the whole city and the one who could hardly find enough to eat? We are locked down together.

“Why don’t you surrender to the one who is mightier than you? Please love your own self and surrender your life to Jesus. There’s a popular saying;if you can’t beat them, join them. You can’t beat God, join him today,” he stated.

Citing examples of scriptural characters who became great as a result of lockdown, Adeboye asked individuals particularly Christians to put the period to good use.

He however sought prayers for himself and other leaders as part of the 10 points he outlined to prevent the lockdown from wasting, listing other points to include: rejoicing, praising God, praying, studying and meditating. receiving visions for the future, planning, cleanup and giving out unwanted items, receiving visions for the future, planning, cleanup and giving out unwanted items.
