The Lagos State Commissioner of Health, Professor Akin Abayomi has said that participants of the just concluded Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, AMVCA, are most likely to have been exposed to the deadly coronavirus infection.
The commissioner made this known on Tuesday afternoon via his official Twitter handle. Taking to his account, Professor Abayomi said:
“I hereby notify you that all participants at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) at Eko Hotels may have come in contact with one of the confirmed cases in Lagos and most likely to have been exposed to #COVID19 infection,”
Nigerian documentary producer, Ifeoma Chukwuogo, had some time last week warned those who attended the just concluded Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards, AMVCA, to self-isolate themselves as a suspected carrier of coronavirus attended the event.
According to Ifeoma Chukwuogo, a Nigerian celebrity flew in from the UK to attend the event. The person who might have interacted with several people was reportedly down with the coronavirus disease symptoms but had refused to report himself to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, to get tested.
However, the patient identified as a celebrity photographer, Seun O, submitted himself for a test at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Sunday, March 22.
