COVID 19: Lekki Toll Gate Has No Customers, Affected By State Government Directive
Covid-19 pandemic has negatively affected the economy of Lagos State, especially the generation of income from the prominent toll gate at Lekki.
The toll gate, which had been one of the most lucrative avenues to the state government, has become a free-for-all toll now as the allowed vehicles during this period of lockdown go in and out of the toll without anyone asking for the toll fee. Is this boosting the economy or destructing it! No, it is a question we need to ask one another. I know everyone will agree with me that COVID-19 is not a mean for fund generation as most social media users are speculating today.
So, if the state government is losing revenue due to the fact that something strange has been destroying the established structure, it means one has to be responsive to any direction given by the government at this period of time.

The state government is not happy with the lockdown order neither is it glad to have its own system shut down.
Citizens of Lagos state should please do the needful by obeying the social distancing and staying-at-home order.
However, most citizens depend on daily income as they are engaged in semi-skilled jobs like the driving of commercial buses, bricklaying, and other jobs of that nature. So, it will not be easy to obey the order given by the government, especially the stay-at-home order. At this juncture, the government should find means to give out palliative care in order to make the stay-at-home order effective.
