COVID-19: NCDC Announces 558 New Infections As Cases Continue To Surge

  • Total cases confirmed – 172,821
  • Total cases discharged – 164,930
  • Total deaths recorded – 2,141

The latest figures by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirms that Nigeria now has a total of 172,821 COVID-19 cases.

In its latest case update dated July 29, the NCDC reports 558 new cases with two COVID-related deaths.

The new cases were reported in 16 states – Lagos-376, Oyo-33, Akwa Ibom-26, FCT-22, Imo-15, Bayelsa-13, Ekiti-13, Kano-12, Ogun-11, Plateau-11, Delta-9, Jigawa-6, Rivers-4, Zamfara-4, Edo-2 and Ebonyi-1.

According to the NCDC, 0 cases were in reported in Kaduna, Nasarawa, Ondo and Osun States.

EKO HOT BLOG gathers that out of the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria, 164,930 cases have been discharged while the death toll has risen to 2,141.
