[COVID-19] NCDC Confirms 159 Fresh Infections

  • Total cases confirmed – 253,340
  • Total cases discharged – 229,650
  • Total deaths recorded – 3,136

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the latest figures by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirms that Nigeria now has a total of 253,181 COVID-19 cases.

In its latest case update dated February 1, the NCDC reports 159 new cases with one COVID-related death.

The new cases were reported in 9 states – Lagos-57, Yobe-37, Rivers-27, FCT-14, Gombe-14, Kano-7, Bayelsa-1, Ekiti-1 and Nasarawa-1.

According to the NCDC, no case was recorded in Delta, Kaduna, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau and Sokoto States.

It was gathered that out of the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria, 229,650 cases have been discharged while the death toll has risen to 3,136.
