COVID-19: NCDC Confirms 422 New Cases, 5 Deaths

  • Total cases confirmed – 178,508
  • Total cases discharged – 165,982
  • Total deaths recorded – 2,192

The latest figures by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirms that Nigeria now has a total of 178,508 COVID-19 cases.

In its latest case update dated August 9, the NCDC reports 422 new cases with 5 COVID-related deaths.

The new cases were reported in 9 states – Lagos-190, Rivers-86, Ogun-85, Oyo-22, FCT-20, Kwara-7, Edo-5, Abia-4 and Bayelsa-3.

According to the NCDC, 0 cases were in reported in Akwa Ibom, Ekiti, Kaduna, Kano, Nasarawa, Ondo, Osun, Plateau and Sokoto States.

EKO HOT BLOG gathers that out of the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria, 165,982 cases have been discharged while the death toll has risen to 2,192.
