EKO HOT BLOG reports that the latest figures by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirms that Nigeria now has a total of 244,548 COVID-19 cases.
In its latest case update dated January 4, the NCDC reports 428 new cases with 8 COVID-related death.

The new cases were reported in 14 states – Rivers-188, Ondo-54, FCT-42, Imo-25, Nasarawa-24, Oyo-23, Edo-18, Akwa Ibom-16, Ogun-14, Osun-10, Kano-7, Ekiti-3, Borno-2 and Plateau-2.
According to the NCDC, no case was recorded in Bauchi and Sokoto States.
It was gathered that out of the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria, 216,814 cases have been discharged while the death toll has risen to 3,053.
