COVID-19: NCDC Confirms 471 New Cases, 2 Deaths
- Total cases confirmed – 178,086
- Total cases discharged – 165,763
- Total deaths recorded – 2,187
The latest figures by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirms that Nigeria now has a total of 178,086 COVID-19 cases.
In its latest case update dated August 8, the NCDC reports 471 new cases with 2 COVID-related deaths.

The new cases were reported in 13 states – Lagos-219, Akwa Ibom-102, Ondo-37, Oyo-33, Kwara-19, Rivers-16, Ekiti-15, Delta-14, Ogun-7, FCT-5, Niger-2, Edo-1 and Katsina-1.
According to the NCDC, 0 cases were in reported in Gombe, Kano, Osun, Plateau, Sokoto and Kaduna States.
EKO HOT BLOG gathers that out of the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria, 165,763 cases have been discharged while the death toll has risen to 2,187.
