The latest figures by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirms that Nigeria now has a total of 178,086 COVID-19 cases.
In its latest case update dated August 8, the NCDC reports 471 new cases with 2 COVID-related deaths.

The new cases were reported in 13 states – Lagos-219, Akwa Ibom-102, Ondo-37, Oyo-33, Kwara-19, Rivers-16, Ekiti-15, Delta-14, Ogun-7, FCT-5, Niger-2, Edo-1 and Katsina-1.
According to the NCDC, 0 cases were in reported in Gombe, Kano, Osun, Plateau, Sokoto and Kaduna States.
