EKO HOT BLOG reports that the latest figures by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirms that Nigeria now has a total of 248,312 COVID-19 cases.
In its latest case update dated January 9, the NCDC reports 537 new cases with 6 COVID-related deaths.

The new cases were reported in 8 states – Rivers (313), Lagos (178), FCT (19), Kaduna (11), Gombe (6), Ogun (6), Ekiti (3) and Abia (1).
According to the NCDC, no case was recorded in Bauchi,Delta, Nasarawa, Ondo, Osun, Plateau and Sokoto States.
It was gathered that out of the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria, 218,997 cases have been discharged while the death toll has risen to 3,077.
