The Nigerian Centre for disease control (NCDC) On Tuesday disclosed that the country has recorded 550 New COVID-19 cases.
Ekohotblog reports that he agency made the disclosure in its daily updates and situation reports for the infection on Tuesday.
The Tuesday toll is the highest daily count since August 22 when over 601 samples came back positive.
The development brings the total number of COVID-19 in the country to 70,195.
According to NCDC, the 550 new cases were confirmed in 16 states and the federal capital territory (FCT) with Lagos topping the list with 219 cases, Abuja trails it with 168 infections and Kaduna with 52 positive samples.

By the same token, 163 patients were released on Tuesday bringing the recovery toll to 65, 110.
One person was, however, confirmed to have died of COVID-19 complications, increasing the toll to 1,182.
The number of active infections has now increased from 3,517 to 3,903 within 24 hours.
