The latest figures by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirms that Nigeria now has a total of 197,046 COVID-19 cases.
In its latest case update dated September 8, the NCDC reports 559 new cases with 5 COVID-related deaths.

The new cases were reported in the FCT and 14 states – Lagos-232, Rivers-83, Enugu-66, Oyo-28, Kaduna-25, FCT-24, Delta-22, Akwa Ibom-19, Kwara-18, Ekiti-13, Bayelsa-9, Cross River-9, Ogun-6, Kano-3 and Gombe-2.
According to the NCDC, 0 cases were in reported in Nasarawa, Ondo, Osun, Plateau and Sokoto States.
