EKO HOT BLOG reports that the latest figures by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirms that Nigeria now has a total of 250,929 COVID-19 cases.
In its latest case update dated January 16, the NCDC reports 249 new cases with 7 COVID-related deaths.

The new cases were reported in 15 states – Lagos (59), Adamawa (46), Imo (37), FCT (30), Kwara (14), Rivers (13), Kaduna (10), Taraba (9), Cross River (8), Bauchi (7), Niger (5), Delta (4), Ogun (4), Nasarawa (2) and Kano (1).
According to the NCDC, no case was recorded in Abia, Bauchi, Plateau and Sokoto States.
It was gathered that out of the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria, 224,629 cases have been discharged while the death toll has risen to 3,110.
