EKO HOT BLOG reports that the latest figures by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirms that Nigeria now has a total of 242,877 COVID-19 cases.
In its latest case update dated January 1, the NCDC reports 536 new cases with 2 COVID-related deaths.

The new cases were reported in 16 states – Lagos-259, Rivers-90, Oyo-46, Edo-43, Kaduna-29, FCT-25, Cross River-12, Nasarawa-10, Osun-6, Gombe-5, Kano-5, Ogun-5 and Jigawa-1.
According to the NCDC, no case was recorded in Bauchi, Ekiti, Ondo and Plateau States.
It was gathered that out of the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria, 214,778 cases have been discharged while the death toll has risen to 3,033.
