COVID-19: NCDC Records 566 New Cases, 11 Deaths

• Total cases confirmed – 176,577
• Total cases discharged – 165,323
• Total deaths recorded – 2,178

The latest figures by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirms that Nigeria now has a total of 176,577 COVID-19 cases.

In its latest case update dated August 5, the NCDC reports 566 new cases with 11 COVID-related deaths.

The new cases were reported in 12 states – Lagos-283, Akwa Ibom-88, Oyo-62, Rivers-62, FCT-18, Ogun-17, Ekiti-12, Kwara-11, Plateau-6, Zamfara-3, Kaduna-2 and Katsina-2.

According to the NCDC, 0 cases were in reported in Edo, Nasarawa, Ondo, Osun and Sokoto States.

EKO HOT BLOG gathers that out of the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria, 165,323 cases have been discharged while the death toll has risen to 2,178.
