The latest figures by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirms that Nigeria now has a total of 187,588 COVID-19 cases.
In its latest case update dated August 23, the NCDC reports 565 new cases with 8 COVID-related deaths.

The new cases were reported in the FCT and 13 states – Lagos-205, Rivers-73, Ondo-63, FCT-53, Oyo-53, Ekiti-37, Delta-24, Edo-20, Benue-12, Bayelsa-6, Kwara-6, Osun-6, Ogun-5 and Adamawa-2.
According to the NCDC, 0 cases were in reported in Cross River, Gombe, Kaduna, Kano, Nasarawa, Plateau and Sokoto States.
