COVID-19: NCDC Reports Four Deaths, 999 New Infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed that the country’s COVID-19 infections tally has reached 79,789.

In its latest case update dated December 22, the country’s top diseases agency reported 999 new COVID-19 infections and four additional deaths.

According to the NCDC, the new cases were recorded in 18 states — FCT (416), Lagos (324), Kaduna (68), Plateau (42), Kwara (32), Kano (24), Gombe (14), Sokoto (12), Yobe (12), Akwa Ibom (11), Bayelsa (10), Rivers (7), Bauchi (7), Ogun (6), O,yo (50), Edo (4), Taraba (4), and Jigawa (1).

Out of the total number of confirmed cases, 68,879 cases have been discharged while 1,231 deaths have been recorded.
