COVID-19: Nigeria Records 1,867 Infections, Highest Single-Day Count

  • The NCDC discharged 107,345 cases – 277 in Lagos, 150 in Kaduna and 78 in Plateau, among others.
  • COVID-19 deaths has surpassed two million globally

The latest figures by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has shown that Nigeria has recorded a total of 107,345 COVID-19 cases.

In its latest case update dated January 15, the NCDC reports 1,867 new infections and 8 deaths resulting from COVID-19 complications.

The new infections were recorded in 24 states — Lagos (713), Plateau (273), FCT (199), Kaduna (117), Oyo (79), Enugu (58), Ondo (53), Kano (49), Sokoto (43), Ogun (37), Osun (37), Nasarawa (36), Rivers (28), Benue (24), Delta (24), Niger (24), Gombe (18), Edo (15), Taraba (12), Bayelsa (10), Ekiti (9), Borno (6), Zamfara (2) and Jigawa (1).

Eko Hot Blog gathers that out of the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria, 84,535 cases have been discharged while the death toll stands at 1,413.
