The Chairman of the Inter-ministerial Committee on COVID-19 in Ondo State, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi has disclosed that 70 cases of the Delta Variant of the virus have been recorded in the state.
While revealing that 35 new cases of the variant were recorded in the last 24 hours, Fatusi said that seven persons were currently admitted at the state’s isolation centres.
Fatusi who is the Vice-Chancellor, University Of Medical Sciences, UNIMEDTH, disclosed this on Monday while addressing senior civil servants in Akure, the state capital.

He said 24 cases were currently being monitored and lamented that civil servants are not adhering to the COVID-19 protocols.
The Inter-ministerial Chairman who stated that the Delta variant was a reality, tasked civil servants to help save lives by ensuring that the laid down protocols were strictly adhered to.
While ruling out the possibility of declaring a lockdown in the State, he urged the people to always wear a face mask as well as wash their hands regularly.
