COVID-19: FG Publishes Passport Details Of 100 Banned Passengers

The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has appealed to state governments and the Federal Capital Territory Administration to reopen all laboratories and increase testing for the virus.

PTF Chairman and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, made the call while briefing journalists in Abuja on Tuesday.

He said: “We wish to urge all states to reopen all laboratories and ensure that testing is expanded and turnaround time for results is substantially reduced.

“In the same vein, states should please keep their Isolation and Treatment Centres open because of the rising cases of infection nationwide.”

Mustapha also mentioned that reports received by the PTF indicates that the laboratories in states are not working at full capacity with inability to function optimally causing delay in receiving of test results and undue pressure on the national reference lab.

Eko Hot Blog gathers that the SGF also announced that the passports of the first 100 passengers who evaded their post-arrival PCR test will have their travel document suspended till June 2021 to serve as deterrent.
