COVID-19: Security Expert Calls for Stability Of Electricity To Curb Insecurity, Kidnappings, Others
A Security Expert and Managing Director, Final Guards Security Firm, and 2023 Presidential Aspirant, Mr Olufemi Oguntoyinbo, has noted that stability of electricity will aid in curbing the killings, kidnappings, crimes and all other forms of insecurity being faced in the country.
Oguntoyinbo while addressing our correspondent via phone from his office in Egbeda-Idimu, Lagos State, lamented the rate of crimes in the country, saying it has complicated the unrest situations from the lockdown order.
He, therefore, urged the federal government to take a radical approach to ensure the stability of electricity in the country, saying such is a vital tool to deal with crime as the stay-at-home order is still in place.

He said: “Stability of electricity is important. The Federal Government should work with the state to provide power supply in order to light up the bandits, kidnappers and robbers’ dens and to make the lockdown work out without fear.”
“The Federal Government should keep to its promise that Nigeria would use electrical power for two months without bills as every citizen is at home, especially Lagos, Ogun and Abuja,” he added.
He called for mounting of CCTV camera and that there should be the availability of patrol vans for security personnel on the streets and highways.
Oguntoyinbo added that he has the vision of functioning security system that would work perfectly from his experience as a traveller and his knowledge as a security stakeholder, noting that he would like to be a special adviser to Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, Chief of Army Staff on security matters if he is given the opportunity before 2023.
