Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, has directed civil servants on grade level 12 and below to stay back at home for a period of 5 weeks.
The directive followed President Muhammadu Buhari’s approval of recommendations by the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19.
In a circular on Tuesday, Yemi-Esan said the directive becomes effective from Wednesday, December 23.
Restricted officers are expected to deliver their duties from their residence while officers from grade level 13 who will be present in the offices are expected to adhere to the preventive measures as stipulated.
In a bid to minimise physical contact, virtual meetings have been encouraged in offices.
Meanwhile, directives have been given to security operatives manning the gates to ensure grade levels of officers getting access into the premises are from 13 above.
