COVID-19: Trump’s Eldest Son Tests Positive
Donald Trump Jr., United States president’s eldest son, has tested positive for novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.
A spokesman for the younger Trump confirmed his principal’s status on Friday.
He disclosed that the president’s son tested positive at the start of the week and has been on self-isolation since that time. He’s said to be “completely asymptomatic.”
“Don tested positive at the start of the week and has been quarantining out at his cabin since the result,” the spokesman said.
“He’s been completely asymptomatic so far and is following all medically recommended COVID-19 guidelines.”
Kimberly Guilfoyle, a senior Trump campaign official, and Trump Jr.’s girlfriend, tested positive for the coronavirus in July.
In October, Trump and first lady Melania Trump also tested positive for COVID-19. Both have since recovered.
Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows, and other White House aides and members of Congress have also tested positive.
The US has recorded more than 250,000 deaths and more than 11 million cases since it recorded its index case in January.
The country is now counting more than 100,000 cases a day as the virus surges across states.
