COVID-19: US May Witness Post-Holiday Surge In Infections – Fauci

Top US government scientist, Anthony Fauci, on Sunday, warned that the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic may be yet to come, driving the country to a “critical point” as holiday travel spreads the coronavirus.

“I share the concern of President-elect Biden that as we get into the next few weeks, it might actually get worse,” the infectious disease specialist told CNN.

Biden cautioned on Wednesday that the nation’s “darkest days are ahead of us — not behind us.”

AFP reports that Fauci, who has been encouraging everyone eligible to be vaccinated, revealed he felt fine after receiving a first shot and experienced “nothing serious at all.”

Surgeon General Jerome Adams added on ABC that, like Fauci, he’s “very concerned” about a post-holiday surge in COVID-19 infections.
