COVID-19 Vaccination Update In 36 States & the FCT

  • The Nigerian government had said it plans to vaccinate 109 million people against the COVID-19 virus over a period of two years.

So far, 1,175,285 persons have received their first dose of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in Nigeria on Monday.

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) disclosed this via its verified twitter handle on Monday evening.

According to the data, Lagos, the epicentre of the disease in Nigeria, takes the lead with 228,378 persons already vaccinated which accounts for about 90 percent of its target population.

This is followed by Kaduna with 61, 170 persons vaccinated, Kano – 60,579, FCT – 57,805 and Ogun with 53,484 vaccinated persons.

Since its outbreak in the Nigeria, over 160,000 infections and 2,062 Fatalities have been recorded from the COVID-19 virus. The country has, however, seen a drop in the number of fatalities lately.
